Frankie Ruth (McDowell) Thompson

Ms. Frankie Ruth McDowell, the daughter of the late Mr. Willie McDowell, Sr. and Mrs. Dorothy McNeill McDowell was born on August 18, 1948 in Robeson County, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life to eternal rest suddenly on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, North Carolina.

Frankie attended South Lumberton Junior/Senior School and graduated in the Class of 1967. She confessed Christ as Lord of her life at an early age and joined the Bethany Presbyterian Church in Lumberton, North Carolina. She was employed for a number of years at Jensen Speakers, Inc.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Dorothy McNeill McDowell; her son, Reginald Thompson; and her siblings; Willie McDowell, Jr. and Magdalene M. Watson.

Funeral services are Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2pm at Bethany Presbyterian Church located on 700 E. Elizabethtown Rd. Lumberton, NC, with Rev. John Edwards, Officiating. The viewing will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 12-2 at the church and the burial will be at the church cemetery.

She leaves to cherish her fondest memories: one daughter, Francine Thompson of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons: Zacchaeus Thompson-Hudson and Reginald Thompson; two granddaughters: Kedonya Fletcher and Jamillia Thompson; four great grandchildren: A`mar Hudson, Keiziya Fletcher, A`shiya Fletcher, and Raniya Campbell; one sister, Jewel (Reverend John) Edwards; two brothers: Elliott McDowell and Anthony (Autraphine) McDowell and a special life-time friend, Cathy Ingram; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
