Ray quietly transitioned from Earth to Glory on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina.

Services to commemorate the legacy of Miss. Ray are being scheduled and will be as follows:
Homegoing Celebration: Saturday March 18, 2023, at First Freewill Baptist Church, 4650 Daniel McLeod Road in Red Springs, NC at 11a.m.
