James Arthur Smith

Mr. James Arthur Smith was born on August 16, 1948 in Robeson County, North Carolina to Mrs. Geneva McMillan Smith and the late Mr. James Willie Smith. He departed this earthly life to eternal rest on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Lumberton, North Carolina. James is also preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence Smith and Steve Smith and one sister, Dedora Jefferson.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 6, 2017 at L.E. Floyd Funeral Home 115 Buie Street Red Springs, North Carolina. Rev.  Charles Covington Officiating: Interment will follow in Alloway Cemetery, Red Springs, North Carolina. 

James graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina. A quite person, James loved to fish and spend time with his family.

He was employed with Croft Metals, Inc., of Lumber Bridge for several years; later in life he became a handyman and worked throughout his community. 
 
James leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Mrs. Geneva McMillan Smith, of the home, three brothers, Larry Smith, of Red Springs, North Carolina; William Darnell Smith, of Suffix, Virginia; James Willie Smith of the home, two sisters, Mildred Alexander, of Red Springs, North Carolina; and Virginia Donnell, of Norfolk, Virginia; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
