Terry Lee McCollum

Terry Lee McCollum was born on June 25, 1970 at Southeastern General Hospital, Lumberton, NC to Foster McCollum and the late Betty Lou McCollum Dixon.  On Sunday, July 23, 2017, God in his infinite wisdom gently and quietly whispered to Terry that it was time for him to take his well-deserved rest and join his mother in heaven. 

In 1978, Terry relocated to Bronx, New York and lived with mother and sister, Louise.  In 2011, Terry moved to Beth Abraham Center, Bronx, NY.  To know Terry was to love Terry.  He always acknowledged your presence by greeting you and then asking you to sing.  He loved music and his favorite pastimes was in his rocking chair, listening and singing to music.  Terry’s beautiful smile and infectious laugh will always be remembered. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 12:00-12:30 for Viewing and Homegoing Celebration at 12:30pm and burial will follow immediately at the Laurel Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina.  

Terry’s memories will forever be cherished by his father, Foster McCollum of Red Springs, NC, two sisters, Priscilla (Curtis) Ramseur of Durham, NC, and Louise (Jeffrey) Rhames of Bronx, NY, three nieces, Salina Rhames, Atia Ramseur and Tameika Ramseur, one nephew, Jeffrey Rhames, Jr. and one great nephew, Avery Ramseur, eight uncles, William (Ola) Johnson of St. Pauls, NC, Haywood (Ruth) Johnson of St. Albans, NY; Samuel Johnson of Shannon, NC; Virgil (Linda) Johnson of Raeford, NC, Eddie (Gloria) McCollum, Bennie (Martha) McCollum, George (Mary) McCollum, and Buddy (Rosie Lee) Haywood of Red Springs.NC; six aunts; Anna Mack of Bronx, NY; Mary Monroe and Eunice (Bobby) Williams of Shannon, NC;  Katie (Clinton) Brockington and Mary (William) Newton of Red Springs, NC,  stepfather, Sam Dixon of Richmond, NC and a very special caretaker and friend Beverly Evans of Bronx, NY.  He also leaves a host of cousins and other relatives and friends.
