Mr. William Benjamin Leach, son of Mrs. Lizzie Chandler Leach and the late Mr. Evander Leach, was born July 22, 1957 in Hoke County, North Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, March 02, 2018. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Lyndell Leach and John Allen Leach; one sister, Patricia Leach McArthur; and a special sister-in-law, Bernice Pighet.
William re-dedicated his life to Christ and accepted Him as his personal Lord and Savior. He attended Pembroke High School in Pembroke, North Carolina. In life, he moved to Charlotte where he was employed in the Textile Industry; after sometime there, he decided to move back to Robeson County. He loved people and enjoying being with family. William enjoyed watching and playing sports, hunting occasionally with his brothers, doing his evening walks from Purvis to Rowland, working in the yard, and drinking his favorite soda, Mountain Dew.
Funeral services will be as follows: Viewing and Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the LE Floyd Funeral Home from 6-8 and the Homegoing Celebration is Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 1pm at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church located on Plainview Dr. Lumberton, NC.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his son, Willie McLaughlin, of Maxton, North Carolina and a granddaughter, Gabrielle McLaughlin, of Maxton, North Carolina; his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Chandler Leach, of Rowland, North Carolina; four brothers: John Jr. Leach, of Fairmont, North Carolina; Evander Leach, Jr. (Diane) of Maxton, North Carolina; Curtis Leach (Elise), of Hamer, South Carolina; and Lonnie Leach, of Rowland, North Carolina; three sisters: Mary Leach, of Lumberton, North Carolina; Doris Leach and Benita Campos Garcia; both of Rowland, North Carolina; three aunts, Geneva Calhoun, Bernice Morris, and Catherine Peterkin, of Rowland, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
